***UPDATE***
I’ve added a new clip from the movie for you to get your teeth into (har har). STAKE LAND is out today – 17 JUNE 2011. I’ve heard a few good things about it so far, so I’ll be catching it as soon as I can… Jump to the new clip.
***UPDATE END***
A young boy (Connor Paolo) is about to learn how cruel the world can become. Martin was a normal teenager before the country collapsed in an empty pit of disaster, and a vampire epidemic swept across the nation’s abandoned towns and cities.
It’s up to Mister (Nick Damici), a death dealing, rogue vampire hunter, to get Martin to safety. Armed with a trunk full of wooden stakes and a desperate will to stay alive, Mister and Martin make their way through locked down towns, recruiting fellow travellers along the way. Among them are a devout nun (Kelly McGillis) and a pregnant teen (Danielle Harris).
I have no idea if this is going to be any good or not, the name and description kinda makes it sound like the vampire version of ZOMBIELAND, and if it can reach 50% of that movie’s greatness then it’ll be well worth watching. The trailer (below) makes it look like it might be just another B-movie horror, so it might be awful. Still, it’s got Kelly McGillis in it. She once took Tom Cruise’s breath away, you know.
STAKE LAND is in cinemas nationwide this Friday, 17 July 2011. Don’t blame me if it’s crapola.
