Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988)

[Movie 2 / Day 1]

20 years ago, Steve Martin was funny. During the 80s, he made many comedies now regarded as classics. Shame he’s lost his way a little in recent years, as re-watching Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a reminder of how good he was, even though it’s not his best film, having a fairly slow pace and with little opportunity for him to really showcase his off-the-wall style.

Michael Caine puts in a fine performance in this, as he does in most of his movies.

Nice to see Emperor Palpatine as a butler too.

My rating: 6.5 / 10
IMDB rating: 7.0 / 10
Running time: 110 mins
