Machete (2010)
Remember GRINDHOUSE, the B-movie double from Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino? Remember the fake trailers shown before and during the double-bill? If you do, you will remember the one for MACHETE. The trailer was a ‘mexploitation’ flick, starring Danny Trejo as the titular Federale that loses everything before taking his revenge.
The fake trailer was well received by Rodriguez’s fans, so much so that the internet was abuzz with suggestion that Rodriguez should actually make the movie for real. Well, he stepped up to the plate and did just that – and it’s fantastic fun. Continue reading
Trailer: MONSTERS
A movie with a tiny budget, MONSTERS looks like it’s going to be this years DISTRICT 9. Written, directed and even filmed by one man, Gareth Edwards, there has been a real buzz over it since it showed at Cannes earlier this year and I’ve been looking forward to seeing it since.
